Job Description

Post Title: Trainee/Technical Assistant/Senior Technical Assistant
Location: Inverness HQ
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Salary: HC04 - HC06 (depedent on qualifications, see below) - £24,806 - £33,579 p.a.
  • Trainee, starting salary HC04 £24,806.- £27,172 p.a. OR
  • Technical Assistant, starting salary HC05 £27,554 - £29,356 p.a. OR
  • Senior Technical Assistant, starting salary HC06 £30.266 - £33,579 p.a.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose:

  • To provide support to teams across the Service.
To assist in the management of systems and data for the Service.
  • To assist in the redesign of the Service.
  • To assist in maintaining the Service asset management database.
  • To assist in supporting staff to utilise IT, including organising training.
  • To support colleagues with tasks including correspondence, quality
management and contract documentation.
  • To create sustainable and achievable processes for the Roads Service.
  • To assist in implementing changes relating to policies, procedures, processes

and software.

Requirements

Experience in a Civil Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration

or a GIS related environment

High level of general computer skills and experience of using standard office IT

applications, such as Microsoft packages (incl SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Valid driving licence. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively
between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational

requirements of the Service.
