Job overview- The Clinical Informatics Service (CIS) is a newly developed service in SLaM dedicated to building a data platform that supports clinicians with the data they need when they need it.
- We created the LUCI (Locating Useful Clinical Information) platform (which you can access through the ePJS frontpage (called ‘LUCI') and are funded for 2 years to take this to a fully operational service.
- We are looking for a dedicated, passionate clinician who has direct experience of social and occupational factors in mental illness through – for example – delivery of an occupational therapy, peer support or psychological intervention aimed at factors such as functional status, developing social networks, housing & finance.

About the Location
The job will be based at the IoPPN Main Building, part of the wider Denmark Hill campus shared by SLaM and King's College London. The IoPPN main building is home to the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience.
Denmark Hill is very well connected, and staff can reach Victoria or Blackfriars stations in 10 minutes by train, and East London is 25 minutes by overground.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities- Providing clinical input into the development of algorithms to pull out social and occupational data
- No coding knowledge needed – you will be working alongside technical experts. The post-holder would need to be very familiar with social and occupational factors that underlie recovery such as functional skills, employment, housing and finances, social networks etc.
- The post-holder would be working alongside technical experts to identify data that relates to social factors underlying mental illness, ongoing social or occupational needs and data that indicates that a social or occupational intervention has been delivered.
- Your clinical input will be vital in the design of the algorithms, validation of the algorithm output and evaluation of how well the algorithms are working.
- Consulting clinical colleagues where appropriate to get a multidisciplinary view of the data.
- Promoting the use of data to identify and address social and occupational needs
- Working with frontline clinicians and clinical leaders to address challenges using these data.
- To this end we would be looking for someone with
- Knowledge – a deep knowledge and understanding of where and how social factors are captured in our health records, what factors are important to address and what interventions we can offer to help with recovery.
- Creativity – using this knowledge to understand what problems are with the current workflows and think creatively about how and when data can be presented to optimise their work
- Leadership – digital transformation requires being able to understand the needs of others, bring them alongside and make room to experiment, learn and change. The ideal candidate will want to develop their leadership skills
