training and meeting competency within role as per policy and procedure within Ward A5 Gastro.
Main duties of the job
Senior Health Care Assistance will be responsible for providing a range of personal care for patents and a range of clinical duties under the guidance of a registered healthcare professional Senior Health Care Assistance work independently performing a number of clinical duties/tasks following
training and meeting competency within role as per policy and procedure within Ward A5 Gastro. This includes: ECGs, venepuncture bloods, cannulation, removal of catheters, removal of cannulas and blood glucose monitoring.

Person specification
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of working in a health, social or residential care setting
- To demonstrate a range of procedures and practices, base level of theoretical knowledge
- Demonstrate through previous experience the ability to escalate concerns
- Ability to work with staff from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Gastroenterology experience
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Health and social care related apprenticeship Level 3, or NVQ3 in health subject, willingness to work towards or equivalent experience
- Cavendish Care Certificate or willingness to work towards
- GCSE English Language and Maths A to C or 4 -9 or functional skills or equivalent
Skills
Essential criteria- Ability to supporting patients and families
- Ability to undertake extended tasks appropriate to competence
- Confidence to work flexibly and to challenge established ways of working and organisational structures
- Training skills, presentations • Leading small groups
