Based in Belfast, this contractor has been developing and maintaining infrastructure across the UK, Ireland, and Europe for the past 30 years. They specialise in utilities (power/telecoms), civil engineering, infrastructure, and electric vehicle hub installations.

The business is built on a foundation of expertise, teamwork, and delivering quality turnkey solutions that exceed client expectations.

With a continuous pipeline of secured contracts and plans to expand and invest across all teams in the coming months, they are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team to work on a diverse range of projects across NI/ROI.

Your new role

Reporting to the Managing QS and working closely with the Operational Team, you will be responsible for the delivery and management of various projects, as well as providing regular updates on the performance of ongoing projects throughout NI & ROI.

  • Establishing, maintaining, and enhancing effective working relationships
  • Preparing monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports
  • Collaborating closely with Project Management and site teams
  • Preparing, submitting, and agreeing on Interim Valuations
  • Attending weekly/monthly project reviews
  • Preparing weekly/monthly reports
  • Identifying, notifying, and valuing changes
  • Procurement of subcontractors, plant, and materials
  • Certifying monthly subcontractor payments and agreeing on variations/final accounts
  • Ensuring required Payment/Pay-less notices are issued
  • Attending Client progress meetings
  • Assisting with the preparation of Extension of Time and Loss & Expense Submissions
  • Submitting and negotiating Final Accounts
What you'll need to succeed
  • 5 years’ experience in an Electrical Quantity Surveyor role
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Electrical Trades Qualification
  • NEC experience
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and excellent communication are essential
  • IT proficient – Microsoft packages
  • Experience in industry management software packages e.g. FOUR PROJECTS – ASTA Powerproject planning software
  • Motivated, driven, and works well within a team
