Neurodevelopmental Pathway Care Coordinator | Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a CAMHS Practitioner/Neurodevelopmental Pathway Care Coordinator, to work in the Tavistock Autism and Learning Disabilities Team. The team is based at the Tavistock Centre and is an up to 25 years of age specialist mental health service for autistic and/or learning disabled young people and their families.
For this role, there is a particular emphasis on diagnostic assessment for young people where there are concerns about social communication and interaction, as well as their mental health and the post-holder will be contributing to multidisciplinary Autism assessments.
As a Neurodevelopmental Pathway Care Coordinator, the post-holder will be expected to work as care coordinator for children and young people waiting for an autism assessment. Working alongside other CAMHS practitioners, the post-holder will be a member of a number of internal and external professional networks to ensure that children and young people’s care plans, across agencies, are coordinated efficiently and effectively.In addition, they will be supporting with waiting list oversight, coordination of referrals and evaluation of clinical support.
There will be opportunities for service-related research, as well as the chance to take part in user involvement and quality improvement projects in order to make positive contributions to future service developments and the delivery of high quality, evidence-based neurodevelopmental pathways.
This role is suitable for someone who is passionate about providing high quality mental health care to support young people with neurodevelopment difficulties and their families. Experience of working with autistic children and young people is highly desirable for this role.A commitment to reflexive and reflective practice; to advocacy, inclusion and belonging and the capacity to work in partnership with service users, their families, and the practitioners around them is essential.
