We are seeking to appoint a Vaccine Programme Manager to support the Douglas group’s work on the development of vaccines and technologies for their administration.

You will play an important role in managing a key programme on using patches for delivering adenovirus vectored vaccines. Working with the team of programme managers and scientists, you will also support other projects within the research group, which range from Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) vaccine development and vaccine and biologics manufacturing technologies and analytical assays, to work on health policy.

You will manage this key programme in collaboration with senior members of the research team and administrative staff to ensure the objectives are met within deadlines and the work is conducted within the University standards and the funder’s terms and conditions.
You will be tasked with independently developing, managing, implementing, and updating project plans, deliverables, and timelines, identifying and anticipating problems, and providing timely solutions. You will act as the main point of contact for the programme, including with CEPI and collaborators, and be responsible for communications within the team in writing and orally.

You will also be responsible for representing the programme in internal and/or external meetings as required and being part of public engagement activities (including contributions to the website, newsletters, and events).

To be successful in this role, you will be educated to an undergraduate level in a relevant scientific or medical subject and have experience in finance, grants, and/or scientific project management. You will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations, represent the group in meetings, and draft, review, and edit documents such as reports and clinical trial documents.

You will also be able to work independently, with minimum supervision, and display a willingness to resolve situations, as well as knowing when to refer issues to others.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience.

This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract for 2 years and is funded by CEPI.
