The role
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, innovative and inspirational teacher with the passion and enthusiasm to fulfil a key role in the school as a Teacher of Geography.
This post would suit somebody looking for their first teaching role, or someone with more experience, who would like to work in a thriving curriculum area. The key is that you are enthusiastic and capable of contributing to a highly effective and supportive teaching team.Geography is very popular and oversubscribed GCSE option, and we are looking for someone with the enthusiasm to continue its success.
Geography is incredibly popular at Weydon, with over 60% of students now regularly selecting it as one of their GCSE options each year. Aside from the quality of in-class provision, we also run a range of field trips, including internationally to Iceland or Sicily, a GCSE residential to Dorset and day trips to the Surrey Hills, London and Winchester.Geography is part of the wider Humanities faculty alongside History, RE and PSHE. This wider team is incredibly supportive, experienced and approachable.
