Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to work as a Teaching Assistant in primary schools. This role is ideal for individuals looking to apply their psychological knowledge in a hands-on educational setting, supporting the emotional and academic development of children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, promoting engagement and understanding.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students with special educational needs, using your psychology background to tailor approaches.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Previous experience in educational settings (preferred but not required).

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £38, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
