Job description

University Corporate Services

This new full-time post is available from 11 November 2024 on a permanent basis.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home. We can be flexible to support you and what you need for your work life balance.

This role may be subject to additional background screening.

About You

Do you have a keen interest in supporting researchers and the wider university community to meet the compliance requirements of international research?

Have you got experience of working to support research and compliance functions within a complex organisation with an ability to give competent advice and advise on risk / risk management?

Are you a champion of continual improvement? Do you enjoy nurturing effective relationships across both your team, university and the sector?

If so, we would like to hear from you.

What will you do in this role?

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the University of Exeter’s research compliance requirements and commitments associated with overseas research and partnerships in a diverse and innovative research-intensive institution.

We are seeking an Export Control and Trusted Research Specialist Advisor to join our Compliance, and Risk Team at the University of Exeter. This is a key role offering immediate availability, reporting directly to the Head of Research Ethics, Governance, and Compliance.

As the institutional expert on export control, Trusted Research, Nagoya, and CITES, you will provide essential guidance to ensure compliance with UK and international regulations. You will be the main contact for academic and Professional Services colleagues, offering support on risk management and decision-making.

Responsibilities include advising on export control regulations, coordinating policy development, supporting researchers with regulatory documentation, and ensuring compliance with UK government initiatives like Trusted Research and the Nagoya Protocol.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
