Maintenance Support Operative

Location: IpswichHours of work: 5 days per week - 45 hours per week. (any 5 days between Monday to Sunday).
A quick look at the role
This role involves assisting engineers with routine maintenance, including disassembling machine parts, cleaning components, and carrying out inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation. You will help minimize downtime by supporting repairs, troubleshooting basic faults, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
Your core responsibilities.- Comply fully with all safety instructions, policies and procedure to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and all others present.
- Work within a maintenance team and assist them in the preventative and breakdown, on all equipment on the site to reduce operational down time.
- Learn to identify potential faults and improvement opportunities on the plant and equipment to prevent future failures or to identify more efficient methods of work.
- Maintain the workplace, tools and engineering facilities to prevent hazard and risks in the workplace and to promote effective engineering practices.
Requirements
Our essential requirements.- Knowledgeable in mechanical maintenance is an advantage but not essential.
- Being comfortable to work as part of a team while also using your own initiative to complete tasks efficiently.
- Hands on.
- An interest in knowing how machinery works.
