An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Teaching Assistant at a secondary school in Lancaster. The school is seeking an individual who has prior experience working with students who exhibit Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.This full-time position will commence ASAP.
The school's exceptional Senior Leadership Team has received commendation from former staff members. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classes comprising up to 26 pupils, collaborating directly with class teachers and the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo).
Responsibilities:
- Provide valuable support to classes with up to 26 pupils.
- Maintain open lines of communication with class teachers and the SENDCo.
- Track and monitor the progress of individual pupils.
- Offer support to pupils with SEN and SEMH challenges.
- Conduct one-on-one sessions and assist small groups of students.
- Deliver intervention sessions, particularly in English, Maths, and Science.
- Demonstrate commitment to professional development by enrolling in CPD courses to enhance your skills and knowledge as a Teaching Assistant.
