Production Coordinator - High-end Rugs and Carpets
A leading high-end, design-led rug and carpet company is recruiting for a Production Coordinator to join their team. The company design and manufacture a range of rugs and carpets from hand knotted, hand loomed and hand tufted to machine made carpets, rugs and runners, they offer an extensive selection of custom / bespoke flooring solutions.
The company design rugs and carpets for the interior design industry. They are not a retail business. The company has experienced great success over recent years and the team is fast expanding. An opportunity has now arisen for a Production Coordinator to assist the Head of Production with the following duties:
Placing purchase orders with suppliers:
Communicating with sales teams re artwork and purchase order details.
Liaising with salespeople where necessary to facilitate the coordination of courier shipments to suppliers for client orders.
Ensuring new product orders are ready to ship on schedule as per launch / range plan.
Sales team support:
Communicating with sales teams about lead times, supplier enquiries.
Managing enquiries from sales teams on purchase orders in production.
New Product Development:
Assisting the New Product Development team in the development of new rug product according to range plan.
Working with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of new rug product samples and collections.
Supplier management:
Liaising directly with all suppliers.
Maintaining relationships to ensure good control of supply chain.
Implementing production processes.
Assisting Head of Production with maintaining supplier price rate sheets.
Progress monitoring of purchase orders:
Loom reports - monthly progress update of each item in production.
Schedules - implementing and monitoring lead time schedules with suppliers.
Deadline order process - managing extra process for deadline orders.
Shipment preparation from production base to studio / warehouse location:
Reviewing packing lists.
Approving images and invoices for payments.
Coordinating shipment departures from supplier origin with Operations.
This is a busy and varied role and requires someone with excellent communication skills who is capable of dealing with different internal teams and a variety of external stakeholders. The role also requires someone who is IT literate and who can use Excel confidently and who enjoys working in a fast-paced role.
Experience gained within the interiors industry or a supply chain role is preferred but not essential. The job is based in the Chelsea design studio within a team of 15 staff.
Monday to Friday - 9am - 5.30pm. No weekends. The company offer 20 days holiday, plus public holiday plus they close between Christmas and New Year. Company Pension.
