What skills and experience we're looking for

Essential
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above or equivalent NVQ Level 2
  • Experience of and interest in working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues
  • Qualifications in, or willingness to work toward accreditation of, working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues
  • Evidence of Level 4 award in SEMH or commitment to undertake the Level 4 award in SEMH within 6 months of starting this new post.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to handle situations with tact and sensitivity involving staff and students
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning
  • Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation

Van Gogh Primary, which is part of the Dunraven Educational Trust, is setting up a Social, Emotional, Mental Health provision and wishes to recruit a passionate individual to take on the role of Resource Base Facilitator. This is a unique professional development opportunity which will appeal to those who have the ability to work on their own initiative and an interest in supporting pupils with a variety of SEMH and learning needs to help them reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will be working under the direction of the SENCo and will ideally have SEN experience and/or have the Level 4 Award in supporting children and young people with SEMH needs. The successful candidate will join a team who provides high quality education and care in a stimulating environment.
