You will be either a registered Nurse with substantial Anaesthetic experience or an accomplished Operating Department Practitioner (ODP). As a prospective Team Leader, you will spearhead our vibrant Anaesthetic and Recovery teams, demanding not just competence but an innate flair for leadership.

You bring extensive experience in the realms of anaesthetics or Recovery, along with an insatiable drive and enthusiasm for ushering in change and championing innovative ideas. You will possess outstanding communication, influencing, and leadership skills, thriving effortlessly in the fast-paced ambiance of a dedicated team.

We seek committed and flexible individuals who can demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have outstanding clinical skills. You must be an effective communicator and hold great organisational skills. As an experienced Anaesthetic & Recovery practitioner you will demonstrate excellent knowledge, skills and be proactive and visible in order to build and form good relationships with your team and with the wider MDT.

In this role you will be responsible for the day to day running of theatres and be required to coordinate the elective service provision by working collaboratively with anaesthetists, clinicians and the ward in providing effective management of elective surgery.

We have recently completed 6 new Theatres at Chorley which added to our existing theatres give us 13 theatres covering a variety of specialties including Paediatrics.

Our current activity is over five working days Monday to Friday but may be expanding in the future therefore you must be a confident and strong leader who can provide support to junior staff out of hours and manage a varied and demanding workload and provide clear direction to your team.

Assist and support the Clinical Manager in the safe and effective management of the service including management of staff, facilities and associated systems and processes.

Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care.

Acts as a role model presenting a positive image of self, the team and the organisation.

Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, making optimal use of operating sessions. Identify potential bottlenecks and facilitate smooth patient flow through the department.

Set, monitor and maintain standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.

Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.

Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care.

Promote provision of patient education and health promotion

Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting, and meeting the needs and choices of individuals.

Ensures environment of care is safe, well equipped, and compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness.

Participate in education and training of junior staff encouraging professional growth and development.

Maintain and develop own professional competence and seek to extend the scope of personal knowledge and skills within scope of role and professional practice.
