Projects Senior/Principal Associate
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £80-100,000 DOE.

The Role:
Join our Top 50 client's dynamic commercial team, where you will work on public-private partnership arrangements, particularly in the procurement of student accommodation by universities. You will engage in high-value and high-profile projects that have national significance, collaborating with government departments, contracting authorities, and private sector clients.
Your primary focus will be on a range of contractual arrangements linked to student accommodation, where they are recognised as a leading firm nationally. You will provide guidance to universities and private sector consortia involved in these projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising on procurement strategies and joint venture arrangements.
- Drafting long-term project/operating agreements and complex project finance structures.
- Coordinating with external financial and commercial advisers, as well as internal teams across procurement, construction, planning, banking, corporate, and real estate.
- Taking on early responsibility to manage your own projects with support from partners and colleagues.
The Person:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- 5+ years PQE with relevant commercial/projects experience, particularly in advising on major commercial contracts.
- Strong drafting skills and a thorough understanding of public procurement processes (experience in competitive dialogue is a plus).
- An ability to deliver clear, pragmatic advice, along with good interpersonal skills to establish rapport with colleagues and clients.
- A "can-do" attitude, enthusiasm, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

As a Projects Senior/Principal Associate Lawyer, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading major projects and initiatives within the direct let student accommodation market.
- Drafting and negotiating high-value commercial contracts.
- Collaborating with specialists in the firm to provide seamless services to clients.
- Engaging in business development initiatives, including networking, preparing tenders, and attending client events.
- Mentoring and supervising junior team members.
