We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Business Lead – Fire Safety to join our Compliance team. This pivotal rolewill oversee fire safety management across our property portfolio, ensuring that all statutory, regulatory, and corporate fire
safety requirements are met and maintained.
As the Business Lead – Fire Safety, you will report directly to the Fire Safety Manager and lead a team of skilled fire safetysurveyors. You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and proactive fire safety management service, contributing to
the safety, compliance, and operational efficiency of our properties. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in
fire safety management, a meticulous approach to detail, and the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders in complex
environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the management and delivery of fire safety and maintenance activities, including risk assessments, servicing, inspections,
- Take the lead in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and specifications for fire safety, ensuring that
- Serve as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact for fire safety queries from operational teams and external
- Oversee the design, implementation, and development of asset databases and fire safety records.
- Monitor and ensure contractors’ compliance with fire safety standards, specifications, and safety practices.
- Collaborate with the Compliance and Building Safety teams to enhance sustainability, reduce maintenance costs, and implement
- Ensure accurate and effective storage and retrieval of fire safety compliance data and records.
- Lead a team of fire safety surveyors, ensuring high standards of performance and successful implementation of fire safety
- Manage fire safety cyclical inspections, audits, and internal fire safety quality assurance programs.
- Support the Fire Safety Manager with the investigation of fire-related incidents and the preparation of detailed reports.
- Advise on the application and interpretation of fire safety legislation, escalating issues as necessary.
- Assist with managing fire risk assessment programs and ensure timely and accurate completion of follow-up actions.
- Liaise with professional bodies such as Building Control and the Fire Service on fire safety matters.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of fire safety training programs for staff and stakeholders.
- Maintain a proactive approach to raising awareness of fire safety issues across the organization.
- Participate in tenant engagement initiatives related to fire safety awareness and prevention.
- Support the Fire Safety Manager in the planning and execution of fire safety projects.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health and Safety legislation and guidelines, including ACOPs and regulations.
Skills & Experience:
- Level 3 qualification in fire safety or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
- Level 4 qualification in Regulatory Compliance Officer, Managing Fire Safety, or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
- Proven experience in fire safety management, compliance, and reporting, particularly in the context of property management.
- In-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation and systems, including fire detection, control, and maintenance.
- Experience with fire risk assessment programs and the management of remedial actions.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation related to property maintenance, construction projects, and fire safety.
- Ability to lead a team effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with fire safety compliance data and databases.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and its fire safety requirements.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of fire safety regulations and
practices.
Interview Process:
