Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Avon View in Christchurch.

Avon View is a residential home on the outskirts of Christchurch offering accommodation for 81 clients over 3 floors providing nursing, palliative, residential and dementia care. We work in a person-centred way providing support for people living with complex care needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Cook in providing a range of nutritious meals.
• Carrying out basic food preparation tasks such as vegetables and salads.
• Serving meals, clearing away and washing up, ensuring food preparation areas are kept clean and tidy whilst adhering to infection control and hygiene policies.
• The ability to provide shift cover as required including weekends.

The successful candidate should have:

• The ability to use a range of food preparation and cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of basic food hygiene.
• An understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Good communication and listening skills.

Part-time - 26 hours per week / £12.26 per hour
