Hays Education are currently supporting a vibrant and inclusive secondary school located in the heart of South Liverpool, who are committed to providing a high-quality education and fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment for students.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join the team on a long-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) English, preparing students for their GCSE examinations, and contributing to the overall development of the English department.

Your new role
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the English department.
  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and GCSE requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
