We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Vocational & Functional Skills Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students aged 16-19 achieve their academic goals. This role involves delivering vocational subjects and Functional Skills in English and Maths, enhancing personal development, and preparing students for employment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Engagement and Delivery: Design and deliver interactive sessions promoting personal development among students, along with accredited qualifications in Occupational Studies and Employability.
- Functional Skills Support: Deliver and support students with Functional Skills in Maths and English from Entry Level to Level 2.
- Tailored Support: Customize sessions to address the unique needs of student groups, covering topics such as online safety, sexual violence prevention, and British Values.
- Student Development: Implement student-centered programs emphasising softer outcomes to facilitate positive progression into adulthood.
- Employability Focus: Enhance students’ work readiness through targeted initiatives and support.
- Work Experience Support: Assist students with targeted work experience and social action projects.
- Team Collaboration: Liaise with the wider team regarding safeguarding, attendance, progress, and achievements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Assessor’s Award: Must hold a full assessor’s award, TAQA, or equivalent.
- Teaching Qualification: Must hold a recognised teaching qualification min level 4
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in classroom delivery and assessment.
- Education: Achieved Grade A*-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths. A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Skills: Strong ICT skills, organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Transport: Must have own transport as the role requires working across several centres.

- Monday to Thursday: 8.45 AM - 5.15 PM
- Friday: 8.45 AM - 2.15 PM
- 37.5 hours per week
