Operations Manager - Street Services local authority

• Hourly Rate: PAYE £26.34 / LTD UMB £34.49

Experience in the waste management field or similar is ideal. The role involves managing dynamic and competing priorities and requires both teamwork and the ability to work independently.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Oversee and manage the daily operations within the Street Services department.
• Ensure effective management of staff and resources to meet departmental objectives.
• Handle complex and ever-changing priorities within a high-profile environment.
• Work collaboratively with other teams and departments to enhance service delivery.
• Conduct regular field visits to ensure operations are running smoothly and standards are maintained.
• Utilise strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve operational challenges.
• Implement and monitor operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in operational management, ideally within the waste management sector or a related field.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently using one’s own initiative.
• Competence in handling high-pressure situations and making informed decisions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
