The Recruitment Co are currently recruiting for a large Public Sector body for a Vehicle Technician.

MAIN PURPOSE

To be responsible for the inspection, servicing, modification, maintenance, and repair of Vehicles and supporting equipment ensuring they are fully operational to manufacturers specifications including the completion of all associated

documentation, both written and electronic so there is a 24 hour availability of the vehicles.

Vehicle & Equipment repair
  • To be responsible for the inspection, servicing, modification, maintenance and repair of Vehicles and supporting equipment ensuring they are fully operational to manufacturers specifications including the completion of all
  • associated documentation, both written and electronic so there is a 24 hour availability of the vehicles.
  • To assist all other trades within Fleet & Engineering services where their skill set is more applicable to affect that repair, including all operational equipment.
  • To be responsible for conducting PSV/MOT Inspection to all blue light vehicles to the standard laid down within "The best practice manual" for UK Fire Services.
  • To repair bodywork including small part spraying to vehicle parts and repair/replacement of panels.
  • To repair, maintain & inspect all electrical & electronic circuits and/or equipment using the latest computer technology to diagnose faults down to board level.
General Responsibilities
  • To provide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion.
  • To ensure continued and effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • To participate as directed in the recruitment and selection procedures.
  • To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of organisational policies and procedures impacting on Fleet, Engineering & Supplies activity at both a corporate and local level.
  • To undertake duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile.
Essential
Possess a certified level 2 trade qualification as depicted in the NQF in Vehicle Mechanic studies
and have at least two years' experience working in a trade role in their area of expertise.
  1. Can demonstrate:
(a) excellent record keeping of computerised repair and inspection data; (b) excellent written & verbal communication skills
(c) a strong customer focus.
  1. Competent in the use of Windows and other Microsoft applications.
  2. Competent in the use of a Management Information System (MIS) for record keeping on repair data
  3. Possess a current B Class driving licence.
