Housing & Customer Service Officer

We are looking for a Housing & Customer Service Officer to join our client on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled, flexible, and dynamic individual who is committed to providing a comprehensive Housing Service and delivering key services to our residents.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Deliver an efficient and effective generic housing management service in line with policies, procedures, Key Performance Indicators, and Service Standards.
  • Take ownership of Housing and Customer Service needs, providing excellent customer service at all times to both internal colleagues and external customers.
  • Identify customers’ needs and problems at an early stage and take prompt action to respond and prevent escalation of concerns.
  • Develop partnerships that benefit both the Association and customers.
  • Liaise with contractors, council departments, social services, and other relevant bodies on resident needs such as arrears management, and repairs and maintenance issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Highly developed negotiating and influencing skills with effective cross-team and partnership working abilities.
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and timely under pressure, with attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective liaison with staff and other stakeholders to give information, find information, and resolve problems.
  • Strong organisation skills and ability to time-manage workload.
  • Commitment to delivering a high standard of customer service.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and current practice.
  • Ability to work proactively under own initiative.
  • Experience in performing a range of generic housing management functions, such as voids management, sign-ups, estate inspections, and fire safety checks.
  • Demonstrable experience of excelling in an agile working environment and a commitment to improving processes.
