Job overview

The post holder will assist in the, preparation, distribution and service for all aspects of food production to patients, staff and visitors in the Kitchen, functions and hospitality through-out the site and any associated duties, ensuring the correct and economical use of materials and equipment, ensuring all HACCP and relevant documentation is recorded correctly.

The post holder will be able to work without supervision at the stated place of work, but may be asked to work at any of the Trust’s Catering areas.

Main duties of the job

The cleaning of premises and equipment to correct standards of cleanliness and frequencies laid down in the cleaning schedules and departmental hygiene policies.

Operating and cleaning of automatic dishwashers

The issuing of certain food items to the wards areas

  • Demonstrate and understanding of the catering assistant role with a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of allergens
  • Flexibility to work within various roles within the team

  • Previous retail experience
  • Demonstrate excellent customer relation and service skills
  • Experience in large catering department
