About the Development Manager job
The purpose of your role will be to spearhead Innovation, Research & Development initiatives. This role involves managing the Development team, driving innovative projects, and delivering cutting-edge solutions to enhance the company’s product portfolio and overall customer experience.
Key tasks
Lead the team in developing and innovating new products and processes, managing projects from concept to launch, while ensuring accurate costings and alignment with business procedures.Design and develop products that meet business and customer-defined scopes, conducting trials and research to gain expertise in key ingredients, equipment, and processes.
Clearly communicate ideas, proposals, and product benefits to customers and internal stakeholders, acting as a source of expert advice on trends and market initiatives.
Plan and organise resources, including team personnel, to meet project and trial deadlines, ensuring adherence to health, safety, environmental, and food safety standards.
Monitor and benchmark product quality, driving continuous improvement and supporting the business in maintaining exceptional standards across all projects.
About You
Degree in Food Science or extensive food technology experience, preferably at a senior level, with a strong understanding of food process mapping, and experience within a development role. A nutritional background or keen interest in nutrition would be beneficial.
A solid understanding of Food Safety and Regulatory standards.Proven ability to analyse, interpret, and present data, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
Strong leadership skills to manage a small team, and drive product development using technical, sensory, and consumer insights as well as the ability to independently and collaboratively drive projects to completion through effective delegation and personal initiative.
