About the role
London Nautical, A City of London Academy is seeking to appoint a determined and innovative Teacher of English and Department 2ic from September 2025.
You will deliver the highest possible educational standards and create a high expectation culture in which students feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed, providing the consistent leadership necessary to ensure staff are supported and are fully committed to their students achieving outstanding outcomes.

About you

In particular, candidates should have:
- A passion for language teaching and the ability to inspire and enthuse students of all aptitudes
- Strong subject knowledge
- High expectations of students’ learning, achievement and behaviour
- Enthusiasm for developing innovative approaches to learning, teaching and student participation
- A clear understanding of the latest curriculum and pedagogical developments in English
- An ability deliver the strategy and developmental aims in conjunction with the department head as well as directing and working closely with departmental colleagues
- Excellent organisation skills
