Manchester city centre - hybrid working with 2 days a week in the office and some evening and weekend work

In this role you'll join our Council Secretariat team to support us in championing what's important to our member-owners. We have a wide variety of elected Council members from all walks of life, and this role will support with developing their understanding of our Co-op and their role in the business.
We'll look to you identify the knowledge and skills required for the role, and design, create and deliver learning and development support. You'll also play a key role in helping us attract future Council members and educating colleagues across the business on our governance and democracy.

What you'll do
  • Design, create and deliver engaging and comprehensive inductions, development and leadership programmes for our elected Council members
  • Design, create and deliver learning and development programmes that outline and embed the skills required to carry out the role of being on the National Member Council
  • Build relationships with Co-op's Talent Acquisition & Development Team to identifiy where and how they can best support
  • Meet with external training providers to benchmark our training offer and bring back ideas to improve our learning and development programmes
  • Work with teams across the business to design and create programmes for all Co-op colleagues to develop their understanding of our governance and democracy
  • Attend meetings and other events to support the efficient running of the National Members' Council, Sub-committee meetings and working groups
This role would suit people who have
  • Experience of working with elected members / lay members or experience of working within a large matrix organisation
  • Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating training and development interventions
  • Experience of delivering interventions through a variety of methods including e-learning, self-led and group situations
  • Experience of working with external suppliers
  • The ability to adapt communication to suit a variety of audiences with different learning styles
  • A talent for building positive relationships with a wide variety of people up to senior level
