Please note in regards to location this role can be based within reasonable daily travel of the West Midlands and travel will be required to London and may occasionally be required to sites across England and Wales.

Are you up for being part of a team who help transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable people? We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated solutions focussed individual to work within our Contract Management Team as an Operations Manager – Business Support.

The Salvation Army is one of the UK’s most inspiring and best-known faith-based organisations who provides specialist support to protect and care for all adult survivors of modern slavery in England and Wales through a government contract which was first awarded in 2011.

A new and extended contract came into force in January 2021 through which survivors of modern slavery are now entitled to support at all stages of their recovery.

As the Operations Manager – Business Support you will;

Work as part of The Anti-Trafficking & Modern Slavery Unit to implement the territorial strategy and ensure that overall mission aims, and objectives are achieved.
Plan and manage strategic business change and improvement projects and project teams, to ensure timely completion within budget, and achievement of project objectives.
Have oversight and scrutiny of business support functions, including information security, the MSVCC Data Strategy and Partnerships
Receive, review and analyse Management Information reports and invoicing data
  • Strong data management and IT skills, with experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and database systems

To be successful in this role you will need:

A strong empathy with issues that relate to vulnerable and marginalised groups

Extensive experience of working at a senior level in a relevant sector and experience of working with similar client groups’ e.g. asylum seekers, homelessness, adult social care, domestic violence, substance misuse.
An excellent and proven track record in empowering, inspiring and developing individuals (including those at a management level) and teams, and successfully leading and managing change, including culture change
A strong track record in developing and implementing quality standards, compliance assurance procedures and all aspects of service governance
Excellent analytical and report writing skills and be confident working with data to ensure understanding of the effectiveness of service delivery.
An understanding of psychologically informed approaches and the support and guidance staff require when working with people who have experienced complex trauma and marginalized individuals.
The ability and willingness to work within, be empathic with and promote the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army Mission

Ability to work flexibly and a willingness travel across England and Wales.
