Job description:We have an opportunity for a Model Design Engineer to join the Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will work within a group of skilled design engineers in delivering quality designed 60% model parts for Wind Tunnel testing, to support the aerodynamic performance development of the team’s race cars.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Deliver high quality designed parts for Wind Tunnel testing.
- Working on design projects, including part creation, management, checking, fault prevention and resolution, as well as project documentation.
- Continually improving the quality and functionality of the model parts/assemblies to improve the efficiency of the Wind Tunnel test program.
- Support development and maintaining improved methods of working.
- Work closely with Aerodynamicists and Surface Design Engineers to ensure the delivered parts meet the specified requirements.
- Adhere to standard design practices set by the Aero Design groups.
- Occasional travel may be required as part of this role.
- A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering/Design/Motorsport) or similar.
- Has a minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.
- Experience with 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA).
- Good knowledge and understanding of part quality, model layout and robustness.
- Possess a good level of understanding of parametric modelling techniques.
- Ability to apply structural engineering techniques for part validation (FEA).
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques including composite manufacture and advanced digital manufacture.
- Good knowledge and understanding of GD&T and its application.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors.
- Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
- Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
