Millfield School is seeking a Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and operations of our esteemed organisation. This is a key position reporting directly to the Head of Finance, where you will oversee the financial management of our group and lead a dedicated finance team.

As the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of producing accurate and timely accounts and delivering high-quality management information to support decision-making at all levels. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will be instrumental in managing financial processes, advising on best practices, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Leading by example, you will manage and inspire our Accounts, Fees, and Payroll teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Your leadership will ensure the smooth running of our financial operations, from overseeing budgetary control and capital expenditure monitoring to preparing statutory accounts and liaising with auditors.

You will also act as the lead finance business partner, supporting various departments and entities within our organisation.

To excel in this role, you will be a qualified accountant with extensive experience in senior financial management, including a proven track record of leading and managing finance teams. You will bring technical expertise, commercial acumen, and the confidence to deliver results under pressure, ensuring the success of the finance function in a complex and fast-paced environment.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential, and experience in project management, system integration, and workflow automation would be a distinct advantage.
