Taverham Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to expand our team as we enter the very exciting final stages of our hospital expansion.The role will be mostly based at Taverham Veterinary Hospital, although cover at our Longwater Lane and Bure Valley branch may be necessary. We believe this really does offer the best of both worlds. The candidate will be able to utilise their clinical skills within the different areas of our hospital and enjoy getting to form strong bonds with clients and their pets in a branch practice environment.
The position will require a motivated, compassionate and driven Nurse to assist with anaesthesia, surgery and diagnostic processes. Duties will also include nurse consultations, laboratory work and inpatient care. An interest in orthopaedics would be desirable but not essential.

This is a full-time role working 38.5 hours per week over 4 days and 1:8 short weekends and 1:8 long weekends. There are no out of hours. Salary is up to £31,000 DOE.

Our hospital status practice is home to a brand new CT scanner, dental suite, new and improved canine kennels, ISFM gold standard cat kennels, dedicated isolation facilities and four operating theatres. Within the hospital our team regularly perform ultrasonography, cardiology and orthopaedic surgeries.Candidates will also work one day at week at our branch practice on Longwater Lane. Longwater Lane is a one-vet branch surgery offering personal and high-quality services including surgical procedures and an in-house laboratory. The practice is also home to a luxury veterinary-led cattery and an excellent hydrotherapy and physiotherapy service.
The practices are based in the peaceful towns of Taverham and Costessey, just 15 minutes from the historic city of Norwich and less than an hour from some of the best beaches the UK has to offer!
Meet the team!
Currently we have 34 Veterinary Surgeons, 41 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 5 Student Veterinary Nurses, 9 Animal Nursing Assistants and 30+ Support staff. Many of our Vets and Nurses are certificate holders in multiple disciplines. As part of our commitment to giving back, we support several charities.We are proud to run the Norwich division of Street Vet from Taverham Veterinary Hospital, headed up by our super vet Claire! Street Vet is a charity that provides essential veterinary care to the animals of those experiencing homelessness, for which many of our team volunteer.
Our team regularly fundraise with quiz and chips nights, with the most recent event in January raising over £2,000! We support Dogs Trust and regularly welcome their resident dogs to attend hydrotherapy sessions at our practice, and we take great satisfaction in knowing that we are making a positive difference in the lives of these animals.
