The Equipment Lead role will report to the ASC Commissioning lead, and will have strong matrix reporting links to the OT manager, working across the ASC Commissioning & Operational team structure.

About You:

As an autonomous role, you will be expected to have extensive knowledge of community equipment and its application in supporting people to remain in the community, maintain engagement in purposeful activities and occupational pursuits.
Responsibilities- To actively participate in and be accountable to the community equipment workstream, contributing to a joint work programme and regularly reporting on progress.
- To provide advice to equipment prescribers in relation to equipment and minor adaptation provision, where appropriate. This will include being available for telephone discussions, and attendance at operational team meetings (sharing good practice, audit outcomes etc.)
- To coordinate and support chairing operational meetings with partners of the contract across both health and social care in order to achieve a formal process for open and continuous dialogue with prescribers in line with operational arrangements.
- To ensure that we have robust systems and processes in place for appropriate and timely prescription. This may involve working with providers as well as internal processes.
- To be proactive and deliver innovation to the provision of equipment services to ensure that the services are efficient and modern.
- To ensure prescribers are well informed about the community equipment available and the ordering processes by providing guidelines, training and workshops.
- To keep up to date on developments and innovation with regards to assistive technologies and work with commissioners and service providers to secure the most up to date, clinically effective and value for money products for our local equipment catalogue.
- To contribute to a system wide culture in line with value for money and proportionate provision.
- To provide advice to contracted providers, including 3rd sector organisations on trusted assessments and equipment provision, where appropriate.
- To lead on the TCES administration - including issuing / allocating PINs correctly, clearing duplication, checking recycled equipment and monitor collections (TCES)
- To monitor contract performance and support the commissioning lead with contract management processes.
- Able to skillfully influence development, improvement and change
- Experience of community equipment pathways (as prescriber or contract manager or service manager)
- Experience of data systems (TCES & Google Sheets or Excel) - reporting, monitoring and prescribing
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to engage with strategic and operational stakeholders
- Ability to interpret data and trends to identify areas of performance improvement / cost control
- DBS check required
Working environment
We adopt a hybrid working approach and you will be required to attend the Council offices, incl OT Hubs, as required in order to successfully deliver the work. Consideration can be given to flexible days as long as key deliverables are met as above
