Housekeeper (Permanent, Part time, KSB, 22.5 hours per week)
To undertake cleaning duties to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the school for students and staff. To be flexible and able to respond to a variety of specific cleaning needs.
The Facilities Team forms part of the broader support function within the School. Its purpose to provide a professional, efficient and cost-effective facilities management service across two sites, which underpins and supports student learning and well-being and seeks to provide a safe environment, conducive to learning.
The team who work across the two sites is made up of a Facilities Manager and a Facilities team. The Housekeeper position is an addition to the team.
Individuals in this role may also undertake some or all of the following:- Complete recycling removal across the school.
- Refill and replace soap, towels and other materials.
- Replenish Teas and Coffee in Staff Room.
- Monitor stock levels and notify Facilities Manager if required.
- Ensure that toilets and washrooms are maintained to the required standard of cleanliness.
- Ensure bins are regularly emptied and recycled where possible.
- Ensure the various dispensers including toilet roll and paper towels are checked and topped up daily.
- To clear up after flooding and/or any other emergency cleaning.
- Regular sanitisation of common touch points on doors, bannisters etc.
- Clean outdoor tables and eating areas.
- Complete water fountain checks.
- Cleaning office equipment when required.
- Support the Facilities team with lunch set up when required.
- To wear suitable clothing/uniform and correct PPE as necessary.
- Operate, use and store domestic cleaning equipment and materials, following appropriate training.
- Ensure that all cleaning materials and chemicals are kept in a locked cupboard when not in use, following COSHH
- Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations (COSHH) and take action where hazards are identified,
- Handle chemicals and cleaning equipment carefully. Use all cleaning materials and equipment according to the task
- Assisting at school events.
- To work as part of a team and contribute positively to that staff team.

- Participate in training to improve personal development and skills.
- Undertake specialised cleaning programmes during school closures or other designated periods.
- Follow agreed risk assessment when moving furniture etc. to clean.
- Adhere to school and legal regulations regarding health, safety, fire and accident reporting.
- Implement the provisions of the school’s Safeguarding policy which can be found on the school website.
- Any other reasonable request made by the Facilities Manager.

The School will also carry out a check of the Children's Barred List on the successful applicant.
