Riverbank School are looking to appoint a number of dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative Teaching Assistants to join this vibrant special school at an exciting time in its development. We have a warm and nurturing school culture which helps to develop pupils social skills successfully.As your role as teaching assistant you will be required to support the class teacher in everyday tasks, promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils, encouraging them to act independently.
As part of the Western Learning Federation, Riverbank School offers a bespoke professional learning offer for all Teaching Assistants. This ensures that staff have the right skills set to provide the best possible experiences for our pupils and staff have the right skills to provide the best possible care and support for pupils with additional needs.
Riverbank School supports pupils aged 3-11 with a variety of additional learning needs including speech, communication and language difficulties, autistic spectrum condition, severe learning difficulties and physical and medical needs. Riverbank school is a caring and nurturing community that provides valuable care support and guidance for its pupils.Staff place pupils wellbeing at the heart of all aspects of their work to ensure we always "learning together to be the best we can". In addition to this, it is also a very exciting time for Western Learning Federation and Riverbank School as we embark on our move to a new state of the art building the Fairwater Community Campus in September 2026
Riverbank are seeking to appoint a number of part time (3 hours a day) nurturing and positive Teaching Assistants. We invite applications from people who are enthusiastic about developing pupils learning, communication, independence and wellbeing.
Riverbank School, Ty Gwyn School and Woodlands School are part of the Western Learning Federation and as it is the only special school federation in Wales. We are a truly unique organisation where our schools support pupils aged 3-19 with Autism and/or profound and complex needs.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).This vacancy is suitable for post share.
Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081).
