An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly respected and award-winning SEN school group at their site in Pilning. This school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment, supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs.
The Role
The SEN Teaching Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting students’ learning and personal development, working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored educational and well-being support.
The role involves:- Assisting in the classroom to provide high-quality learning experiences.
- Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Encouraging social and emotional development.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Helping students develop life skills and independence.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential).
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to adapt to students’ individual needs.
- A willingness to undertake relevant training.
