Clinical To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team, maintaining good clinical liaison, attending all relevant meetings. To carry out assessments and plan suitable treatment programmes for clients, according to identified needs. To contribute to and initiate treatment evaluation, review, and discharge planning.
To carry out group and individual sessions using a range of treatment techniques within the areas of cognitive and psychological functioning, physical functioning, personalindependence, domestic, social, creative and recreational skills and educational/vocational needs as necessary.
To record interventions, providing verbal and written reports in accordance with College of Occupational Therapy standards and local procedures. To work as part of the MDT in the assessment of clients prior to admission and be actively involved in decisions relating to the referral process.
To be involved with looking at move on accommodation and other community resources appropriate to clients needs. To contribute to the Community Group Network, liaising with care coordinatorsas required, especially around monitoring risk and therapeutic risk taking.
To develop and maintain links with other services within the directorate and withcommunity agencies as appropriate for the client group. To be responsible for the planning and review of Occupational Therapy programmes. Professional To maintain standards of practice in accordance with the Occupational Therapy Code of Professional Conduct and Livewell Southwest policies and procedures.
To contribute to the development of the profession within the trust. To be involved with recruitment for the unit as required. To participate in regular supervision with Senior/Head Occupational Therapist. To participate in the Trust Managerial Appraisal systems.
To initiate and maintain clinical governance activities within the clinical area. To ensure effective communication with all appropriate professionals and services is maintained. To represent the Occupational Therapy department or Syrena on working groups and other meetings as required.
To attend relevant professional meetings. To oversee Preceptorship for Junior Band 5 at Syrena when appropriate. To provide clinical/professional supervision for junior staff. 3. Educational To participate in multi- and uni-professional teaching programmes for staff.
To ensure that personal professional development continues in keeping with job and personal requirements. To maintain professional interests outside of the direct clinical area and to keep up to date with developments in Occupational Therapy or sphere of practice.
To take responsibility for the supervision of Occupational Therapy students if required. (Clinical supervision training required). To undertake all mandatory training in line with Trust policy. 4. Administrative To ensure that an accurate record of all necessary data is maintained, including clinical notes, PCF and other relevant paperwork.

To ensure that Occupational Therapy equipment and materials are used effectively and safely within the department/service area and in the community. To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade, as agreed by the Lead Occupational Therapist, designated Head or Senior, or the Unit Manager.
