A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our team as an Associate Clinical Technologist in the Nuclear Medicine Service of the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, based at the Royal Derby Hospital.

The Nuclear Medicine Service provides specialist diagnostic imaging and non-imaging patient services. A wide range of investigations are performed to assess the function of organs or organ systems, by administering radioactive materials and analysing their distribution within the body.

This is a rewarding people-orientated career involving applied health sciences and direct patient care.

This is a part time secondment opportunity working between 07:45 - 13:00 Monday to Friday.

Your role will be split between working in our aseptic radio pharmacy unit, preparing for the manufacture and dispensing of the radiopharmaceuticals used for patient studies and in the main nuclear medicine department assisting during a range of routine nuclear medicine studies and also providing general support to the team of Clinical Technologists and Scientists in the provision of the service.

You should be an enthusiastic, highly motivated and caring individual with an attention to detail; good time management and planning skills; and a willingness to learn new skills. The ability to work and communicate well with people is essential.

You must also have 5 GCSE (grade C or above), or equivalent, to include English, Maths and a physical science. Previous experience of working within an aseptic environment or diagnostic imaging service would be an advantage, but specific training will be provided where necessary.
