Legal Operations Manager
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Operations Manager to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our Legal Services Department.

We host a Joint Legal Team, a long-standing shared legal service for all the Berkshire councils and a recognised centre of excellence for childcare, adults and education law. As well as leading a highly regarded internal Corporate Legal Team, serving the needs of the Council across a wide range of functions.

About the role
As a Legal Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving efficiency, improving processes, and supporting the delivery of a high-quality legal service. You will work closely with the Legal Operations Team Leader and Legal Services Management Team, leading on business development, quality assurance (Lexcel), budget monitoring, and compliance.You will also deputise for the Legal Operations Team Leader when required.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring effective day-to-day operations of the Legal Operations TeamLeading on process improvements and efficiency initiatives
Supporting budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial management
Managing legal supplier contracts and overseeing locum/agency appointments
Ensuring compliance with Legal Services Office Manual policies
Leading on Lexcel accreditation and quality management processes
Overseeing risk management, business continuity planning, and data breach response
Managing Learning & Development programmes for the Legal Services team

About you
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive professional with experience in legal operations, business management, or a similar role. You should have strong leadership, financial, and process management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with legal and corporate teams.Experience in risk management, compliance, and supplier/contract management would be advantageous.
