Maternity Ward Clerk | Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust
Maternity Ward Clerk - Fixed Term for 9 Months - 37.5 hours per week
We are looking for a bright and friendly individual who is enthusiastic to provide full administrative support to the maternity inpatient ward at Tameside General Hospital. The successful candidate for this Maternity Ward Clerk position will be able to use initiative to work independently, whilst also working effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
You should possess good IT and interpersonal skills, and be able to demonstrate effective time management of your workload. Previous experience of administrative support or a Ward Clerk role is desirable.
You should be calm, organised and motivated, with a positive and flexible approach to your work. The role involves working independently, alongside ward staff, and having contact with patients and their families; therefore, excellent communication skills are essential.- Admin and clerical support within the maternity department
- Obtaining, preparation and filing of case notes as appropriate
- Manage telephone enquiries
- Input and access data from electronic patient information systems
- General office duties, including, photocopying and typing
- Effective use of the relevant IT systems
- Have a basic knowledge of Child protection issues and reporting mechanisms as appropriate to Matron/Named Midwife for Child Protection
