Analyst / Consultant

The Analyst / Consultant role is part of a small team delivering high quality analysis, project management and consulting services for our clients.
Principle activities and responsibilities:
The Analyst / Consultant role will be an integral part of the delivery team responsible for conducting research and collecting data in order to identify areas for improvement:
  • Analyse existing operations to identify pain points, inefficiencies, and any unmet business needs
  • Run tests and surveys that provide relevant data for statistical analysis
  • Compile large quantities of data from different sources and assess information to identify statistical trends
  • Conduct business and data analysis and evaluation on specific projects
  • Prepare reports and presentations containing data and analysis to enable data-led decision-making
  • Develop innovative ways to improve or change operations, leveraging technology, innovation, and industry knowledge in collaboration with colleagues and clients
  • Use your understanding of a client’s stakeholder environment to inform and adapt working styles and communication
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to manage and deliver practical solutions
  • Support or lead client workshops in support of business change.

Essential requirements:

We are looking for someone with strong data and analytical skills who can use this to enable change and innovation with our clients. Highly motivated you will pick up and run with tasks and work with a degree of ambiguity and complexity. Ideally degree educated, typically with 2-4 years’ consulting or analyst experience gained either in a professional services organisation or ‘in-house’ as part of a business change team.

Your main experience should be either in environmental / sustainability projects or digital / technology projects.

Core consulting competencies:
  • Advanced Microsoft excel skills are a must and will be tested at interview
  • Strong communication and interpretation skills
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical models, graphs and databases
  • Proficiency in workplace technologies and data analysis tools
  • Ability to distinguish between reliable and unreliable data
  • Understanding of data protection laws and policies
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Research and Report writing
  • Ability to influence at a range of levels
  • Presentation skills
  • Experience in the environmental sector, and knowledge of carbon calculations and net zero would be an advantage.
Desirable - you may also have:
  • Aptitude for or experience of working with project budgets, trackers and forecasts and able to provide reports of financial data in accordance with documented processes and procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of Project Management software (including MS Project, Merlin or Monday.com).

Pay and benefits
  • Basic Salary £30,000-35,000 (full time equivalent) depending on experience
  • 25 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays (typically 8 per annum)
  • Workplace pension scheme with matched 4% employer contribution
  • Volunteer day(s)

Hours: Flexible 4-5 days per week

Location: Cheltenham

Hybrid role: home-based with regular meet ups with Cheltenham-based staff

and visits to client sites.
