Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide HR support and guidance to various directorates during both organisational change and routine operations.
- Work closely with senior managers to develop effective workforce strategies that align with the council’s financial and operational goals.
- Address and resolve complex HR issues, offering strategic solutions to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure they meet the needs of the organisation and comply with legal standards.
- Support the execution of HR projects and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered within scope and on time.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with senior management and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to navigate through barriers to deliver results.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage a range of tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of HR practices and principles, with a readiness to learn and adapt to the specific needs of the public sector.
