Join our team in a transformative phase under the guidance of a new Service Director. We are looking for an HR Business Partner to provide crucial support during a period of organisational change and financial challenges. This role involves advising on workforce planning and a variety of business-as-usual activities.

While experience in the public sector is not essential, the ability to engage confidently with senior management and overcome barriers efficiently is crucial.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide HR support and guidance to various directorates during both organisational change and routine operations.
  • Work closely with senior managers to develop effective workforce strategies that align with the council’s financial and operational goals.
  • Address and resolve complex HR issues, offering strategic solutions to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure they meet the needs of the organisation and comply with legal standards.
  • Support the execution of HR projects and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered within scope and on time.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with senior management and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to navigate through barriers to deliver results.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to manage a range of tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of HR practices and principles, with a readiness to learn and adapt to the specific needs of the public sector.
