It is an exciting time to join us at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for Band 5 Mental Health Nurse to join us in our inpatient services.
Kentmere Ward is situated at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal and is a 12 bedded mental health unit offering short-term recovery-based care, focused to meet the needs of individuals with mental health issues. This enables people to return to their communities, and allows them to regain their independence.
We are looking for caring, empathetic, enthusiastic individuals who have a passion to improve the lives of our patients. These roles will be to provide care and support to patients who require mental health interventions, guidance or monitoring.

For example, a Band 5 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 5 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse role at LSCFT or in a role such as Mental Health Practitioner Role that requires the same profession.

- Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 6 months of employment. This bonus is applicable from 1stJuly 2024 – 28thFebruary 2025.
The £3k Welcome Bonus package is designed to attract and retain the very best staff in post. The amount a new starter would receive is shown in the Welcome Bonus Payment Schedule below:
- £500 after 2 months of employment (counted from start date with LSCFT)
- £500 after 6 months of employment
- £1000 after 12 months
- £1000 after 24 months
PLEASE NOTE: This bonus scheme is subject to a Repayment Clause should the post holder leave this role within 6 months of commencing employment.
