Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to fill our band 3 Health Care Support Worker role within the Pre-assessment service based in the Princess of Wales Hospital.
This role is an exciting opportunity to support the Pre-assessment unit in delivery of Pre-operative patient care and patient flow within the Pre-Assessment service.
The Pre-assessment unit a fast paced ever changing nurse led service, where patients are assessed for fitness for a anaesthetic.
We are looking for an individual who is educated to an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, with in-depth knowledge of health care settings, excellent communication skills and is able to work without direct supervision.
Main duties of the job
This role will require candidates to have in-depth knowledge and skills of working within a hospital outpatient setting, and possess the necessary skills to carry out ECG's, Venepuncture, MRSA screening and vital signs. You will also need to be able to recognise and report signs of patient distress and abnormal vital signs.
You will also need to proficient in using WCP, WPAS, Email and Microsoft systems, along with previous experience in tracking notes within the UHB site library.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience

- Experience of working in Pre-assessment or outpatient department.
