We are looking ot fill a full-time post at a Local Mental Health Team covering the Rushcliffe area of Nottingham. Our core business hours are 09:00-17:00 but some flexibility can be offered.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a proactive, compassionate, caring and recovery focused Occupational Therapy Assistant with excellent communication skills to join our existing dynamic multidisciplinary Local Mental Health Team. The post- holder will work alongside our experienced Occupational Therapist’s to offer interventions that promote recovery, enabling patients to live their best life.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This post is both rewarding and a vital role towards the delivery of treatment to our patients in the Rushcliffe area.
To implement the high-quality Occupational Therapy intervention plans collaboratively with the patients in their own homes and local environments, alongside the qualified staff.
Professional and clinical supervision will be provided by an identified Occupational Therapist.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Essential criteria- UK Driving Licence & a vehicle for use at work (reasonable adjustments for disabled applicants)
- GCSE or equivalent English
- NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent in Mental Health
Physical requirements
Essential criteria- Ability to perform a full range of duties
- Able to undertake training in the management of violence reduction
- Relevant training to post
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience in working with people with mental health issues
- Experience of working in community or acute mental health services
Knowledge, Skills
Essential criteria- Awareness of a range of health conditions and interventions
- Demonstrates awareness of the needs of people with mental health problems
- Time management and communication skills
- Ability to motivate others
