Salary: £29,000 - £31,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm shifts working 5 out of 7 days
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join A.F. Blakemore as a Transport Shift Supervisor at our long established depot in Willenhall We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual with experience in leading teams within a distribution operation.The ideal candidate will have the drive and leadership skills necessary to support a diverse team and contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the depot.
As Transport Shift Supervisor, you will work closely with the Shift Manager to ensure the effective management of operations within the depot. You’ll be involved in everything from scheduling and staff management to ensuring legal compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Transport Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations within the transport department, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
- Perform supervisory tasks as required, including managing resources and covering operational gaps.
- Support staff scheduling, absence management, and performance monitoring.
- Maintain effective operations in the absence of the Transport Manager.
- Ensure drivers adhere to legal requirements, including Working Time Directive regulations.
- Help maintain a safe and efficient working environment through strong communication and leadership.
- Experience in a distribution or transport operation, preferably with knowledge of driver regulations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Ability to handle conflicts professionally and maintain a positive, productive team environment.
- Proficiency in Maths and English, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
