Job Description

Are you a payroll bureau professional looking to broaden your skills and move into a more diverse bookkeeping role?This position offers the perfect opportunity to expand your expertise while still utilising your payroll experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls based on client-provided salary and pay data.
  • Calculate tax, national insurance contributions, overtime, shift payments, pay increases, and statutory payments (holiday, sick, maternity).
  • Provide clients with payslips, PAYE & NIC reports, and pension contribution details.
  • Manage pension schemes, including Auto Enrolment registrations and obligations.
  • Submit payroll information to HMRC and pension schemes.
  • Perform bookkeeping tasks for clients using various software platforms, such as Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Sage.
  • Raise and process invoices, complete bank reconciliations, and match payments and receipts.
  • Handle cash and overseas transactions and complete VAT returns.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll experience who wants to expand into a wider range of bookkeeping tasks. You'll gain hands-on experience across different accounting platforms while continuing to provide critical payroll support to clients.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Payroll & Bookkeeping Advisor should have:

  • Exposure within payroll bureau, experience in book keeping would be amazing but not essential
  • Knowledge of Xero, Sage, Quickbooks.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage your time and meet deadlines
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A problem-solving mindset.
