Unique opportunity for Chartered Engineers in Aerospace

Are you prepared to embark on an exceptional journey in the aerospace industry? My client is in search of a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join us as the Head of Operations, based in Cornwall, UK, amidst the lively surroundings of Newquay airport.

Role Overview:

As the Operations Manager you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of aerospace and space propulsion. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will utilise your extensive knowledge of airframe technologies for subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic applications.
This is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to establish and lead the UK operations from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

 •  Lead the establishment of UK operations independently, overseeing a team ranging from up to 20 members.
 •  Collaborate with Canadian and US operations to swiftly and efficiently implement AS 9100 certifications, preparing for audits.
 •  Manage resources judiciously, keeping a keen eye on expenditures, with a primary focus on UK Space Agency and UK government projects.
 •  Prioritize UK projects, including defence initiatives, ensuring they take precedence.
 •  Work towards the collective goal of placing personnel on the moon, balancing speed and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements:

 •  Extensive knowledge of aerospace, space propulsion, and airframe technologies.
 •  Proven management experience in defence (UK-specific), UK Space Agency, or related private companies catering to defence and space agencies.
 •  Chartered engineer status in aerospace, space, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
 •  Ability to work autonomously and lead a team effectively.
 •  Commitment to achieving goals under demanding conditions.
