An outstanding and highly reputable SEN school in Witney, Oxfordshire, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their permanent staff team from April 2025 or sooner.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and is looking to make a meaningful difference in a supportive and dynamic school environment.
The Role:
- Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities that meet individual student needs.
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Using various communication methods and adaptive strategies to support student learning.
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, either in a school or similar setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and a patient, caring approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- The ability to adapt to different situations and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A good level of literacy and numeracy.
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN (desirable but not essential).
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
