The appointee will work alongside our team of consultant medical microbiologists and work across the full breadth of medical microbiolgy service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities
The appointee will work alongside Consultant Microbiologist colleagues to fulfil the following duties: Clinical Duties
- Deliver timely expert advice on infection diagnosis, management, and prevention to hospital
- Conduct ward rounds as required, with a focus on specialist units (e.g., ICU,
Leadership & Governance
- Lead on infection management within the hospital.
- Attend monthly Directorate, audit, and clinical governance meetings.
- Participate in Trust committees (e.g., Drugs & Therapeutics, Risk Management, Mortality
Infection Prevention & Control (IPC)
- Maintain collaboration with UKHSA Yorkshire & Humber and UKHSA East Midlands
- Play an active role in IPC and antimicrobial stewardship, including:
o Leading outbreak response and incident management.
Antimicrobial Stewardship- Contribute to the development and review of the Path Links antimicrobial formulary and
prescribing guidelines, working alongside microbiologists and antimicrobial pharmacists.

Essential criteria- FRCPath part 1
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- NHS experience
Additional criteria
Desirable criteria- Additional higher qualification (e.g. DTM&H, master's degree in IPC)
- Verifiable experience in guideline review or writing
