An Exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk to join the administration team in Denbigh Hospital.

The Ward Clerk will provide efficient clerical assistance to the ward. The provision of an efficient clerical service is essential to ensure the speedy admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Main duties of the job

By the nature of the duties, the Ward Clerk will be required to maintain strict confidentiality, and will be expected to deal with patients and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times.

The Ward Clerk is responsible to the Ward Managers in providing an efficient clerical service across the wards.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Able to demonstrate English and Mathematics to GCSE or equivalent Experience
  • OCR/RSA Word Processing level 1 or equivalent experience
  • Welsh speaking
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ II Admin/customer care.
  • ECDL

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous clerical/office experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous NHS experience
  • WPAS User
  • Oracle

Aptitude and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Able to contribute constructively to a team working environment
  • Ability to use own initiative whilst understanding the need to seek advice from senior staff where necessary
  • Able to communicate information clearly and sensitively in person and over the telephone.

Values

  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality
