As a Data Center Facility Manager in Amazon Web Services, you will get to manage the world’s largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure. We encounter interesting, challenging & complex problems every day, being a technical facility manager in Amazon means that you can innovate to solve these issues and help drive Operations Excellence in all areas of your role.

As a people manager you will actively hire and develop your team of data center experts and technicians. We are currently looking for a Facility Manager in Berkshire / West London area.

Key job responsibilities
  • Ensuring we adhere to and exceed Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centers
  • Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
  • Maintaining existing operational Amazon Data Centers to the highest level of Availability
  • Helping to build and bring online new Amazon Data Centers
  • Constantly improving all our processes and procedures, we believe there is nothing we cannot improve
  • Assisting and managing relationships with external vendors and contractors
  • Liaising with internal teams and management groups
  • Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of our Data Centers and utilising those metrics to drive positive changes
  • Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc

  • Proven track record of people management and developing teams and in particular ensuring staff are ready for any and conditions through skill and process development
  • Ability to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
  • Experience working in data centers or another mission-critical environment ( e.g. Data Centers, Hospitals, Power plants, military facilities, etc.)- Advanced electrical or mechanical qualification (Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline is also acceptable)
  • Full EU/ UK driving license.
